Intel Core i5-13600K trades blows with the Core i9-12900K on Geekbench

Over the past few days, the high-end Intel Core i9-13900K has been at the focal point of many leaks. While it will undoubtedly be one of the best processors money can buy, not everyone will have the budget for it, and that’s where the Intel Core i5-13600K comes in. The mid-range processor made quite an impression on Cinebench R23 and CPU-Z. Now, it has made its presence felt on Geekbench.

This time around, the Intel Core i5-13600K has shown up in two different test benches, one with an Asus Z690 motherboard and the other with an Asrock board using the same chipset. The former nets single/multi-core scores of 2,012/16,054 and the latter 1,980/14,225. Twitter leaker Harukaze5719 speculates that the Asus board was overclocked, which explains the differences in scores.

According to our database, the Intel Core i5-12600K scored 1,821 and 12,746 on average. The single-core performance uplift is significant thanks to the new Raptor Cove cores, and the addition of four extra efficiency cores (6C + 8c) is bound to affect its multi-core prowess. Things get even more impressive when the Intel Core i5-13600K is compared against the previous-generation flagship, the Core i9-12900K, which scored 1,947 and 17,828 on the benchmark.

The Intel Core i5-13600K in question here boosted up to 5.1 GHz, which happens to be the same speed the performance cores ran at during its previous Cinebench R23 run. Hence, one can reasonably assume this value to be its boost clock, although the figure has the potential to go higher with some overclocking.
